Farming Practices

Certified Organic

Our farm is certified organic, meaning we operate in accordance to the Canada Organic Standards (some of the highest organic standards in the world!)

Ecosystem Approach

Crops thrive when the ecosystem thrives. We try our best to nudge our ecosystem in the right direction, which allows crops to fend for themselves.

Soil Health

Plant health is a reflection of soil health. To improve soil health, we apply compost, plant cover crops, and add minerals to correct deficiencies. This ensures the highest quality and nutrient density of our produce.

integration of Livestock

Chickens clean up around the gardens and provide soil fertility. They love eating grasshoppers and other pests, so they are part of our integrated pest management program. Cows are used to keep the pastures around the gardens trimmed.
